Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Nothing in NDC, MDC and Hopkinton. Business as usual with no work and matrix management.

Not going to happen, if you are a insider your job is safe. Understand how things work in NDC and Hopkinton.

Don't worry pink slips will be issued. Look at the downward spiral

Don't worry with the debt restructuring won't be long before you get pick slips.

Yeah UDS is killing it. So far no layoffs today. But maybe it will come at the end of the day since cowards manage this company

There are ton of 0 impact QA in NDC and Hopkinton, we still see them everyday. No one including MD was able to figure this out. Just move to development team or sustaining and as always we add no value to current or next gen products....but destroy lives of others for own survival.

The reason many were riffed from was they were a dragging down our velocity. It's hard to get momentum to build a next gen product with a gorilla on your back. They basically had 0 impact anyways, we don't miss them.

Dell is in the final stages of killing all the products (and company names associated with them for Hopkinton, NDC, and MDC). I worked for Dell for 16 years and it's hard to count the number of companies they purchased and then ran into the ground during that time. Dell's major problem is that they never have been a design house, so when they buy a company and then need to upgrade the products from that company they are completely in the dark as to how to proceed and they end up letting the products die with no next gen product to replace them.

Lend a hand with which project? Trident? All (well 95%) of the people helping with that project, in MDC anyway, were riffed months ago. Seems counterproductive to self preservation here to ask for that. That said, I think the worker bees here would still be more than happy to do so (lend a hand). Guess where the problem lies.
