Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Are the workers in the least profitable units in most danger of being laid off?

I was just wondering is that the criteria for the potential layoffs and does wornikng in units that generate less profit put you in a “better:” chance to get cut? What unit do you think they will be targeting next and can we expect more reorgs within the company?

I heard people who post YAY 5G and GO VERIZON on VZWeb articles over and over won't be cut.

To be honest, if the product IS making money then they tend to cut anyway. The general idea is to cut until things break. Some directors try to make their cut numbers by handing the cuts down to their underlings in the fashion the see the will cause the least disruption. Others are lazy or more likely don't want to deal with having to directly pick names and will just do a "peanut butter" spread so the percentage is handed to everybody below them in an even fashion.

Don't forget, the managers are staring at a list of names and have to pick good people to c-ap on. The slugs are long gone, the volunteers don't cover the number. I've been told it's the most awful feeling they've ever had to deal with to have to choose.

Hearing certain portions of wireless will be cut. If a product is not making money, the team will feel it.

Targeted action like that might upset some non-binary, androgynous, participation trophy stacking, hardest-trying snowflake and kick Hir in zir pelvic-leg junction.

Broad based action makes everything equal, some more equal than others.
