All I read on this site is how Marvin is failing. But lets look at some of the good he's planning.

Spiffs are back for the Specialist

With his new alignment of the PSA's we will have more time to do what we do best SELL!!!!!

We have a new computer system in the works that will make our jobs easier

Employee recognition for sales targets met and GOOD CUSTOMER service

That's just naming a few....there are many many more.

It's not easy coming in and making a great company better, but that is what he is doing. Let's see where we are in a year from now. I'm willing to bet a whole lot better off than we were in 2018.

Every area he is targeting to improve needed improvement. Look at our Pro Service, what a mess. It's no wonder he is doing everything possible to make our Pro's want to shop with us. We needed drastic changes to that area alone.

I love working with customers and helping them on a daily basis. That should be our main focus every day. Not looking for ways to get out of doing our jobs or hiding in the break room. Just think, it is the employees that can make Lowe's successful or fail. And yes, God Bless!

You know if they bring back spiffs then they will use it as an excuse to fire people who don't make their quotas. Oh, and no one cares that some sales specialists do not make quotas because their management makes them pull items for delivery , gather carts outside, load customer vehicles, load mulch in cars, etc., and other work functions that aren't even on the sales floor. Also, these so called sales supervisors are already saying that they are not going to help in departments or do anything that is listed in the job description. They plan to bark orders and not do any physical labor so we just expanded the top heavy load of non-working management and have no one on the floor to do real work. Store Manager, ASM's, Service Managers and sales department supervisors all huddling off the floor talking non-work stuff all day and when a buzzer goes off, they call or yell at someone to get it. No help whatsoever. If a customer is abusing you and you call for help, forget about it. You can get raped in the garden department and no one would come help. Sad but true.

Sure corporate propoganda here. I'm still waiting for my many $10 promised prizes for sold PSE leads. Another lie / scam.

Boost Pro? How? I work pro, yet we work every weekend away from pro 100%, and the other 3 days we cover register and lumber. We never work pro, never get breaks, and always take 20 min lunches due to extreme short handedness.

Until corp steps in, creates a schedule for pro that makes sense, implements, and tells stores on the store level they can no longer manipulate as per needs of the store, pro is fukkkked.

Lowe's always plays both sides of the fence. No balls, backbone, or spine. Pussies.

Corp wants it one way, then they give store managers power to over ride it all. Great business model. w-------rrs.

Retail is simple; have what people want, in stock, when they want to buy it and have staff on hand to help them. Lowes is failing on both accounts. What they send us makes no sense; 5 pallets of cleaning products in one day, but not a single gallon of paint all week. The paint aisle looks like a ghost town while topstock for the cleaning products spreads over two additional aisles. Way to go Lowes!

I think the complaints are coming from employees who like working with customers. They’re upset because the cuts are making that impossible.

Furthermore, if there isn’t time to take a 15 minute break or a lunch in the break room without people like you saying we are hiding, we might be short handed.

Drinking koolaid? No spiffs here. The sales budget and sales tracking tool hasn't been working for months. The system at our store shows sales specialists no longer reporting to sales ASM so that is interesting and leaves a lot to the imagination. Computer system is ancient and online is jacked. Poster must be telling us what is going on at Home Depot not Lowes. Koolaid confusion on your part I think.

To the original poster, you are full of it.

  1. When/where are spiff back? Show us the proof?

  2. What new PSA alignment? We have the same night stockers that can’t read, who leave freight all over the floor, and who put out unopened boxes as we did before. We’re lucky if they get top stock in the same aisle as the stuff customers can buy.

  3. New computer system? Where did you get that info? A year ago we were told about at graphical user interface for genesis and we still haven’t seen a thing. As for sterling the money spent on that would have been more that enough for the pay of every single employee cut over the last few years.

  4. What employee recognition system? I’ve had customers compliment me to the MD and SM and I don’t even get so much as a thank you. I’ve had customers compliment myself and another associate, the other associate gets the recognition but not me. So screw Lowe’s.

I bet you’re sitting in a plush office at corporate trying to put a positive spin on a company that takes and takes from its employees.
