i have said couple of times here that those who will be affected will get their bonus for 2018 and many of you were almost screaming against it (saying no way GM would pay this). But as we can see, those who are getting the axed have already confirmed about the team GM bonus payout. So, hope now you guys will understand what severance really means and it is not as same as getting fired!!

I will believe it when folks say they have the money in hand. How many times do you need to be lied to by these a--holes before you stop believing what they say!
Same here anyone know who to talk too about getting added to that layoff list?

The ISP is the same as the VSP except the VSP would only permit those with 12 years to bail. But a FAQ sent around said people would get their Team GM payout. The employee handbook shows the ISP is handled the same way as we saw the VSP. Look it up. If you are eligible for retirement, you can take retirement. I myself have health care in retirement until Medicare kicks in because I was hired before 1993 (I think that or 1994 was the cut off). I plan to take retirement if I get tapped just to lock that in, and Will role my reduced retirement in lump sum (almost a 50% reduction than waiting until 65) and roll it into my 401k because I do believe this company could face bankruptcy again. I can’t afford to retire in my mid-50’s, so I would look for another job. I just feel bad that those the same age as me, who hired later, don’t have the same option for health care in retirement.
I'm going to be really sad if I'm one of the ones stuck here, doing two jobs and getting paid exactly the same as everyone who gets a severance. If I leave, I get nothing, so I'm stuck here with nothing. Thank you GM for appreciating your high performers :(
