Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

There is no "in the clear"

There is no "in the clear". General Motors is not a company that has stability or security associated with any job. If you were there to remember the bankruptcy times this is the same as 10 years ago. So the former vice president of Human Resources, who failed the company during bankruptcy, now CEO, is failing it again.

MARY B. 20 million salary plus 20 million bonus in 2017. Between the president and vice presidents, the direct reports to MARY B. , they each are being compensated 10 to 15 million dollars a year.

CAN the top 2% and you have you structural cost savings!!

This is the sad truth. OP is @Xsk6l4z-xch

I was laid off GM in 1996. Got out of the car business. Was 40 years old. At that time they paid for reschooling. Decided to go to community college and get into the health care industry. BEST decision of my life. I have a true skill, transferable, and in demand. Really hard but works out. Get lot's of exercise and stay away from booze. Eat well.

They've been laying off for the last two years folks. This layoff is only what they publicized.

We lost a lot of good people over the last 24 months.
