Depending on what your point of view is (union worker, GM exec, GM staffer, more liberal, centrist, or more conservative view of the world) you'll have a different take on this, obviously. To me, GM doesn't operate in a bubble. To merely build with cheaper labor (Mexico) and sell to 1st world customers is unethical. Personally, my take is that building where you sell is the right thing to do. GM uses the infrastructure, the roads, the property, etc. and brings profit back to the U.S. and should be accountable to more than just Wall St. as every company should. Improving the local economy where you sell is also part of the game.

It's like if you buy lower cost Chinese products from Amazon....yeah, they're cheaper and you feel good for saving a few bucks but after a while you realize you contributed nothing to your local economy because it was manufactured overseas. Seems GM execs want everything 1-way without giving anything in return...build cheap out of country, sell to 1st world, etc. but minimize investment where you sell the most.

Whatever, just my 2 cents.
