Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Preview of what's to come

People should check out General Motors page today - layoffs have started and it seems to be brutal.

If you want to know what we at Ford have to look forward to very soon, there's a preview for you. I'm pretty sure what's coming here will not only be as bad, but much worse.

Mark my words...

Ford will be tougher and bigger layoffs

Just thinking about how those poor guys are getting tapped on the shoulders and escorted out after years of dedicated service and hard work gives me a chest pain!

They're trying to make themselves a silicon valley company. They won't last 5 years with this type of strategy.

Engineers are what builds your product and keeps you competitive!

I'm hoping Ford's won't be as extreme since they're not fully owned by investors.

I doubt it will be the same. GM is taking all the heat for the auto sector. Ford knows this and is trying to do it in a more subtle way. Even if they lay off the same number of people, it will most likely be through various rounds of layoffs instead of one massive round like GM.

Ford layoffs will be much like the GM ones. Probably more people will be laid off than GM. I think Europe will be soon and then it's our turn. It's like a slow train moving towards us and nobody seems to be getting out of the way.
