If you listen to Facebook and other corporations they will tell you that they are looking for the best employee. True, or not the H-1B programs were never intended for companies to look for the "best" employee, only to fill jobs that they couldn't otherwise find qualified people. That should be a very rare occurrence indeed. The difference between qualified and the best is visa abuse on the part of corporations.

The visa system needs t be changed so that employers can hire as many visa holders as they desire, but in addition to fair wages the fee to do so should be $100,000 for H-1B visas per year, and around $12,000 per AG visa every 6 months. If companies really need these people they will be willing to pay, otherwise no.

A number of H1B were let go in our team other teams around us in Nov/Dec, and guess what they have all just slowly slowly returned as part of another team. There profiles were removed and now they are back reassigned to other teams. Will full time workers get the same treatment? Get cut to make up the numbers and then re-hired again?

This number is nothing as compared to what Google, Apple, Facebook hired on H1B. Most innovative and technologically advanced companies. They are in 10’s of thousands!! S--- it up loser. Not all H1B’s work for outsourcing gaints. Most of them have Masters degrees from Univeristy you can only dream of going to. Many are PhD holders!

You want to make money in other regions of world by seeling cars, but hire folks from there. Selfish idi0t$!!

H1Bs do serve a purpose. They are used to fulfill highly specialized job position where Americans either don't have the skills or not willing to take the job. There are some of those at GM.

That said, just in the last few years the system has seen to become more abused, in particular by Indians.

(I could be downvoted into oblivion by that last sentence.)

1000 is just the direct hires. Several times more h1b contractors.
