Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

February 13 - chopping day

Q2 Financial results will be released on that day. At the end of the call, Chuck will mention that 4,500 people will laid off. If your mgr is acting strangely to you since mid Jan, that's a sign you're on the chopping list.

.

A few heads will be notified on Tue, the stealth mode way.

VVV--

https://investor.cisco.com/investor-relations/news-and-events/news/news-details/2019/Cisco-Reports-Second-Quarter-Earnings/default.aspx

Product revenue performance was broad based with growth in Applications, up 24%, Security, up 18%, and Infrastructure Platforms, up 6%.

^^ so other than security hw boxes, the infra platforms line item is very piece of HW in cisco across all BU and sp/enterprise/sme/cloud ..... i would dearly love to know how each hw verticial did.

do we have a breakup of Q2 results by market segment and platforms?

I saw only one line called "infrastructure platforms" around $8 billion that hides everything from a 8 port hub to a 1000 port switch.

Cisco s---s. Layoffs all the time. Especially in November, just in time for the holidays! The execs should be the ones getting let go. They’re pieces of sh--e for the most part.

Someone was saying here underperforming BUs would be punished. Opens up new seats for large acquisitions.

I dont think it will be CX but more the “legacy” box products and various failed bits and pieces acquisitions

Think of the cloud sw slaughter in 2016 using our former cto to be the bad cop

Really? Strange that this large #’s is happening mid fiscal year. That’s usually reserved for year end financial statements.

I recently joined CX & I’m over 50, so that worries me.

I hope this is “fake news”, but I won’t be surprised if it’s real. Good luck all.
