It has been brutal in the GIC. Specifically on the project I'm on, we have a release on the 11th. We're trying to do bug fixes but every 30 - 60 someone was let go. Constantly being hammered about status updates combined with consistently losing resources and the fear of being next is literally the most stressful thing I've had to deal with in my life!

My department at the RenCen got gutted. Even the brand new employees are getting axed.

GIC definitely got hit hard today. All day was sad.
Not much happening up in Canada today. I work in engineering and as far as I know our Oshawa and Markham Technical Centers were not affected. Have no idea about what if anything went down at our headquarters in Oshawa (finance, purchasing, legal, marketing, sales, etc..). We heard of the ax falling in Warren, MI today and feel for our colleagues there. Apparently tomorrow is our turn as HR have several conference rooms booked for the entire day at our Oshawa engineering campus.
I think only IT and Finance people have been using this site. The site's been active since 2017 I think.

I work in an IT building, but I am not in the IT. No one from my department was let go today, only IT was let go from what I heard/saw.

I'm at MPG. I have seen a steady stream of people being walked out. We have metro cars at all exits.
Not 100% but I think this site has been circulating the most among IT folks. In addition, the news has reported that layoffs will occur for the next two weeks and I think IT just so happened to be the first ones to go. I’m thinking layoffs will continue for other parts of the business towards the latter part of the week and into next. It’s also my understanding that legal is involved so I’m sure they can only travel to a select few locations at a time but these are all just assumptions.
A lot of layoffs in Legal today and Friday.
