Lee Hecht Harrison Outplacement Service?

Has anyone gotten the Lee Hecht Harrison outplacement service working? I signed up yesterday morning and still only have the basic features, and under profile it still says they are confirming my eligibility. I have called twice and was on hold the whole time. I have left 2 voicemails with no follow up...

We had Lhh after layoff . I would recommend going to employer and asking for more comp or something other than LHH . They are a joke company . Don’t waste your time .

We are a large company after reading ( most ) of the responses on here we have decided not to use LHH . No company should have these kind of reviews .

Not worth the effort , I started to use Lhh , but found their service , cheap , redundant, time consuming , and their employees are negative .
I paid 300 to have resume done , knocked on doors , reached out to companies .
Working for government now investigating big auto companies abusing foreign visa programs .

I worked at GM Austin , after gm laid off about 17000 world wide we were given a package included was LHH , they offer a handholding to the realization you are on your own. There services are basic stuff , resume , interviews, etc... they have a so called job bank that is pretty bare .
No one I know has found Lhh useful. GM could find better services and or offer more comp instead of wasting money on the biller Lhh.

It’s worth it to get some help on your resume. I did some webinars and the negotiation one was really helpful as I was in the offer process.

But if you need access to a fax machine or a 10 year old PC, they're there for you.

They modified the structure of my resume and LinkedIn profile. Other than that, it's useless.

I had the same thing, so I emailed them after looking at some of the basic features, and was assigned to a coach a couple of days later. The coach held an overview session and gave some good pointers. I made a few updates to my resume, based on their initial review, and will be meeting with the coach again next week to discuss the next steps in their program.

This is all in addition to applying to places on my own. So far I've only heard back from GM, when the automated system told me I didn't meet the qualifications..

They are helpful in workshops, resumes and conducting interview. Helped modify structure of my resume and LinkedIn profile. Other good tips were given as well.

However the job placement and claiming companies will contact you directly is bit of sham. I have landed 4 final interviews and I applied for every job through my own resources.

I certainly wouldnt pay for these services once I have all their presentation slides

Agreed - these type of companies (especially LHH) is completely useless. You get better advice for free by googling than what these “pros” give you

When I was laid off it was Right Managment back in 09!! Waste of a week- I found my own job!

You have to send in your signed severance agreement. Once it is received by GM we get the full service from them ..whatever that is

My wife had them (different company) when they had layoffs a few years back (oil and gas industry) - low value add (based on her experience).

Second that these out placement firms are worthless. don't wast your time, as they will be looking to get you to sign up for paid services. Start your own job search now.
