First, if your kids are anti social it is your fault. Just like if they are disrespectful, mean or cruel. You failed them. IT IS YOUR FAULT. Bank is a corporation not a parent. A manager is to manage, not parent. Don't hire those you can't trust.

You talk of team building but do you realize people are being made to go to hub but no one from their team is there? Contractors are working from home. Who is going to support the out of hours work? It is all so poorly though out.

The entire GM team that allah brought over is a joke. They brought VP's managing 3 or 4 guys at GM to SVP's managing 20+ at bank for exuberant salaries. I even had a peer SVP brag how ridiculously well he was doing. Same guy who spends hours a day talkng about their fortnite conquests. Really, Fornite for a SVP??? I am just waitnig for a package, this place is a complete and total mess...

I think you all are jumping to conclusions. The reasons are twofold. For many groups, bringing the workforce back to the office creates better communication, team building, learning, etc. Think of how much we complain about our kids being anti social and texting all the time. We want them to get out and interact with people. And on a personal level, that can only help us.

The other reason VPN is not a preferred method of work is the risk. To use VPN, you have to have a Bank issued laptop. The risk is the data that resides in the laptop, the lack of critical security updates the laptop gets if offline for a while, the support and costs associated with laptops, users having laptops as secondary devices and never using then or storing them in drawers for a rainy day. Etc etc... The solution is HVD, or virtual desktop. With this a user may remote into a centralized, secure virtual machine from any personal device they own, without risk to the Bank. And the data stays stored on the network, not off. It's all about risk and responsibility. And believe me I'm not drinking the Kool-aid. I just understand the reasons and agree. And if anyone feels this is an inconvenience, just remember, you are an at will employee and you have the right to leave and go where. Personally, I don't think elsewhere has it as good as we do. But I'm an optimist and I work hard and believe what I do today reflects on my professional outcome tomorrow. So just work hard and deliver. Or you can lay low, wait and be delivered.... Out. Your future. Your call.

If you work for a line of business you shouldn’t need VPN unless you WFH.

If you directly support technology then a “no VPN” rule is insane.

The no WFH rule is inconsistent. I still hear plenty of kids and dogs on the background of conference calls.

There has NEVER been any consistency at this bank in regards to WFH, My Work, or any other perk. NEVER!

I don’t understand what they stand to gain from this besides a lot of lost productivity, increased leaves of absence etc. This is shortsighted, backwards stupidity

GT & O has been told no VPN, many are pushing back, some leaders are saying no VPN ,others are saying reduced vpn, some are offering silence.inconsistent in how the info is being drilled down, , poor reflection of senior leadership with such an inconsistent message,

As far as work life balance do you really think they care?

They haven’t and if they want to support most of the business continuity plans they won’t. Some businesses have just stated they won’t pay for it and people are expected to come into the office
