Marvin must be gambling the severance money in Vegas because nothing has been sent yet!

Can any of you tell me how long it took to actually get your severance pay? Was it direct deposited or a paper check? I was just laid off and can’t seem to get any correct information. Thank you!
Same here. I’m in NC and still nothing. I’m only a few hours away from Corporate.. I feel ya, it’s beyond frustrating. Just one more notch on the f--- you lowes totem.
So am I the only one that has yet to receive their severance paperwork in the mail?? This is beyond aggravating, waiting and waiting and the paperwork still hasn't arrived, even after the window that I was provided. Here is what my LPOSM told me in January:
"The packages will be processed on 1/26 and then mailed to your address in the system. You should receive it 7-10 days after that. Once you receive it you will need to read the details, and if you accept the terms you will need to sign it and mail it back in. Once it’s received they will process the payment". It's now 18 days past January 26th, and nothing...What the hell is going on?!?
Anyone else experiencing this????

Came by UPS needed signature.
Unemployment law will vary by state.
Look up your local laws. In my case severance does not affect any unemployment benefits for the state I live.
It's possible that if you have a last name farther in the alphabet you may have been mailed out the package later. (Alphabetically sorted at corporate level).
Suggest that you make copies of the paperwork and send it back with tracking.
Read the instructions on filling it out they included.
Good luck on the future!
I’m in NC, and haven’t received anything yet. Did it come regular post?
So if you take the severance you get no unemployment?
Don't see a non compete clause... Got the mail today and nowhere does it say you cannot work for a competition store or company.
thanks for the info Broke, I hope your source is reliable. As for the Non Compete Clause... I agree.. How would they know if you went to a competitor... but also they hold your file and have your Social #. I’m sure their Lawyers making a million a year keep track of that stuff.
Looks like a lot of us are in the same boat. I didn’t have a choice but to get another job, part time and 6$ less an hour. 13years with the company and this is what they do to us. I hope Marvin drags them down like he did the others. I lot in my district were Senior managers, and were not even considered for any other position. I hope everyone affected can get back on their feet and see this as a blessing, a new start.
I'd be curious if anyone has ever had repercussions with a non compete clause. How would Lowe's know you are employed somewhere else?
Also, looks like severance package was mailed out, should be in by the next two days.
Collect unemployment and sign your rights away for the money you have earned! God bless.
So, if I had no other choice but to take a position at a company that I wasn’t sure was a competitor, my severance goes down the drain... they make us wait for the package in hopes that we were desperate and don’t have to pay. Hope they had fun in Vegas F---ers.
Same position here. Last day 2/1. Been over a week and still nothing. I got a part time job, but that definitely won’t cover my bills or rent. F---ed over again.
The talk of a non compete clause comes from the standard severance package they have uses since the blood bath of ASMs i. 2017. Its possible they updated it for this round, but at least up to now they have uses the same severance agreement that they used in 2017 which inudes the clause.
I understand doing that for high end execa that get half a years pay which is still more than anyone makes at a store level and know company secrets. Making anyo e at a store level sign a nom compete is a low move.
SCOTUS has pushed all NC cases back to state courts and have upheld arbitration as the best venue to reach a settlement.
That said the court has held that the agreement must be reasonable in geography and duration. Most states have held that less that 366 days is reasonable and have struck down geographical clauses in employee related non competes (still very reasonable in regards to selling a company) opting for customer specific clauses. That means you cant sell to someone for the duration of the contract term to the customers you previously sold to... that’s somewhat direct and does not include prospects. Also, it is tough to enforce if you don’t sign any new sales or service contracts with former customers. Usually the contract only applies to same business transactions meaning if you sell floors to XYZ with Lowes you cant sell XYZ floors with HD but you can sell them automobiles or computers. Lastly, Lowes is very PR weary, if they eliminated your position not you specifically for performance issues, I would imagine a call to the local TV station or newspaper will see them backdown immediately. This is all my opinion and does not constitute sage, practical or licensed legal advise.
We (PSIs) were told there is NOT and Non compete in our package, though it may be very different for LPs. I hope not but they did it to the ASMs two years ago when they walked them out that morning. We were also told our paperwork would be mailed and delivered about 14days after our final day. If LPs are on that same timeline Id expect it around the end of next week? Good luck in your future! I am also leaving this dumpster fire before the ships breaks apart and sinks faster.
What FAQ paperwork are you all referring to? I haven't received any communication on the LP side of things, and I have not received anything in the mail. It looks like some of you have received a non-compete statement, where did you receive this? Is this something that I can find? Or is this something that you can share online, so that all of us that were laid off can see what we are looking at..
Any information is greatly appreciated, because today marks one week since my last day, and I haven't heard or received anything, and I am getting antsy not having income coming in.
My attorney has looked into the non-compete statement and she believes that it will not stand up to a legal challenge. There is an X percentage of your salary that must be met in order to sign a non-compete. Lowes is not even close.
Fyi, accepting the severance means signing a non-compete clause. You ant work for any competitors to Lowes for a year. This can really mess you up if you plan to reenter the home improvement business.
Accordinf to the FAQ's paperwork, PSI package will be mailed out 2/16. We should receive within 14 business days. You have 45 days to sign and return. Once package is received back, direct deposit or check will be sent in 14 business days.
Same here, where the hell is my money. It’s bad enough they f---ed us over on a job... God Bless
