Is it too late to volunteer? I know I get to keep my job for the time being but I want the severance package. After learning the plans coming my way, I want out ! What a monstrosity. I will continue my job hunt just the same. It’s only a matter of time. Too many pompous a$$es who think they know how to run IT.

I think it will be better to be let go in this round early rather than be a slave to UP and still end up being let go for less severance down to road. If I get let go, it’s probably for the best. I am a good worker and if they don’t see a place for me, help a brother out and send me on my way.
I don’t trust the directors and managers and avps. Save a job? Don’t try to guilt me into doing your dirty work. I know , how about you step down. Save a job! Ya? Didn’t think so. Do you even have authority to allow someone to volunteer? Cause I don’t think ya do. Now what.
Talk to your Director or AVP if you really plan to leave. You may be able to "volunteer" still if you do it tomorrow and save someone else's job that wants to stay.
IT has total employee count of 1100 so cutting 500 would be more than 45 percent, I don’t think that will happen. Stop spreading b---s---.
Dont know if the bonus will happen or not. And UP, take the bonus and stick it. This place aint worth it. Rip the f ing bandaid off already. If I get an offer first, you will see elbows and bu----les.
500 to be let go next week is the number. LLAs, OSS, Director level positions. Sounds like they are cutting a bunch from the middle of the pack in service years to eliminate the pensions. Less than 20 years and a couple of years from retirement age you get next to nothing and your spouse loses their connection to a future income stream. Say hello to social security, that won't be there thanks to your new duley elected socialist Senators and State Representatives. Enjoy your retirement.
