Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Mic, managers, craft transers

A lot of people complain about the unions but a lot of there problems is they help to much. They let MIC, manager, craft transfers pay union dues, cheap job insurance. Maybe the unions need to deal more with there active members. When you go manager, foreman, craft transfer your no longer part of our union. See MIC on this site crying because they lost there jobs in seniorty order and that is not fair. Between dovetailing and returning to the rooster its not fair to the active employee. Most people hate, blame, the union for all there problems. Most problems are caused because they try to help every one and not there active members.

Mic is a right of selection promotion in CNW territory somewhat equivelent to a foreman general 2, only without the pay . They very much pay full dues to the machinist union. They are your brothers out doing outlying point work. In general , their day is full and they earn every penny. Anybody who takes any promotion should retain rights as they have put in their time and possibly went that extra effort to deserve that promotion. Be proud of your craft and those that are successful from your craft.
