Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

HINKLE HUMP GONE

The hump at Hinkle is going away very soon. Along with the hostlers, more yardmasters most RCO jobs, more carman and roundhouse. I have less then 10 years seniority and I think I am going to be looking for work...brutal!!!

Republican Democrat Left Right White Black whatever, in those last minutes of life millions of thoughts race through your head although your body is weakened, and f---ing hundreds of people's life's over becasuse your inability to make decisions that'd work without lawyers whispering into your ear is straight ticket southbound into the fiery pit. People lose jobs yea we get it, technology, loss of business endless reasons, the UP's inability to hire and promote managers, employees from anywhere bu except planet GiantDump is what's causing everything that is bad.

CSX closed 12 or 13 humps and reopened six, Hinkle is the most modern in the system. Jimbo hates hump yards. Sad but true. Lots of excess. I may be next. I have a reverser laying around somewhere.

We shall see, because right now Hinkle's numbers are the best in the pnw. But one thing we do know is common sense never plays a role in there decision making.

Yep, it’s true. Heard they want to build Albina bigger which doesn’t make sense because they have a much smaller and older shop with no room to expand. With the hump going away that means the service track will be basically nothing meaning more layoffs for machinists, electricians and mso. Only hump in the PNW gone. Everyone, everywhere should be very worried.

Sorry to hear that, I know it’s tough now, but if you are cut there’s company’s out there that will gladly hire responsible people. I wish you the best.
