BYOD Question.. .???

I have a question for all of you BYOD haters. What do you honestly think the company wants with your “pictures and text messages”?? Do you really think they want to spy on the average Joe shmo meat cutter or sales associate. Get real!

THe company is responsible for providing equipment to do your job. MY phone is not their equipment.

It's not your text messages and pictures they want. They can track your phone thru the store Wi-Fi. This means they will be able to see how often you use the app, how much time you spend doing other things on your phone. It's going to be about productivity.

I was told that if you put BYOD on your phone, they can see everything on it. Also, if the company gets sued, they can seize it as evidence if you did any business on it.

Also, they can remotely wipe your phone of all files etc.

So beware. If you’re going to do BYOD, put if on an old phone that you already deleted everything off of and keep two phone lines. Don’t put it on your main phone.

Runs fast on my iPhone. You have to uninstall everything and it's off your device. How would it stay if you uninstalled everything?

This is totally killing my battery, and it basically takes forever to load. I want to uninstall it, but I overheard someone mention that it still stays on your phone. Does anyone know how to delete it completely from an iPhone?

Has anybody ever known anybody fired for posting something bad on social media? Well wake up, cuz your life is in your phone and your phone is now there business. They would not demand permission to see it if they didnt want to see it and use it against you. Not that hard for them to scan for key words or phrases once there in your phone. Beware of BYOD!

Why would they ask for access to these things if they had no intention of spying.

They want access to text messages to see if someone is stupid enough to text about stealing, breaking company policy, or something else like that.

The fact of the matter is, for any company you work for to ask for any of that is way out of line. To use it or not, they do not need to ask for it.

It does not matter whether they will or will not do anything. They should provide equipment for us to do our jobs. Or pay us to use ours. Maybe we should bring our own pallet jacks too.
