If you are that miserable in your job, why wait to “hopefully” get laid off. Take your life into your own hands and find another job, find your own happiness, find your own peace. You are the only person in control of what happens to you. Stop complaining and take action!!!

If you essentially like your job, and you've been there over 5 years, why leave? Trust me, there is uncertainty in every company. Unless you are certain you are moving to a better company, working conditions and environment, why leave before they ask you? MAKE THEM PAY YOU TO LEAVE!
Dear “complainer”, I think you’re missing the point. Stop being negative. How do you know you would go from one bad situation to another? You could go from one bad situation to a great one! There are no guarantees in life. You’ll never know until you take a chance. No one is telling you to take a job with a pay cut. Why would you that? At least look, at least go on a few interviews, at least TRY! Eventually you will find something that suites you and your needs. In the mean time, stay at current job. I mean, come on! Take control.
As one of the "complainers" that you mention, not everyone is in a position where they can up and find a new job. What if the jobs offered involves taking a pay cut? How are people supposed to support their families? The only reason I remain at bny as long as I have is because it pays more than any other job I've applied to. Also, people should not be Hasty and rushing through Job searches. You don't want to leave one bad situation for another. That's the way I look at it, anyway. I don't want to leave one bad situation for another. My job search has been very slow and very calculated because as far as I'm concerned, I still have an income. Everyone out there, do not leave one bad situation for another. Take your time with your job search and truly do your best to find the right roles. Do not just jump ship at the first thing you're offered, especially if it does not make Financial sense or involves taking a steep pay cut that you won't be able to recover from.
Well, that is BNY’s goal, isn’t it?
