Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

You do NOT have to wait for BNYM to lay you off

I've actually been applying to jobs and I have now reached the post interview, reference checking stage at a large employer here in Massachusetts. The layoffs and constant department reorganization at my location has been horrible. I was moved to a group where I have no experience in their line of work. The manager in my group was also pulled over to my group after her group was merged with another. She was facing either being laid off or moved to another group. It's very frustrating and I received no training at all to be able to handle my new group. It's an absolute mess and I'm just looking to get out as soon as possible. I was very honest with the company I interviewed with about my reasons for wanting to leave, and they were actually very sympathetic and horrified at what I was telling them about BNYM. I just want to post this, not to pat my own back or toot my own horn, but I posted this comment to show all of you reading this that you DO HAVE options. You do NOT have to wait for bnym to lay you off! There are jobs and sane functional companies out there! Thankfully I live in an area in Massachusetts where there are plenty of huge companies around and plenty of options. The dysfunctional culture at BNYM has Warped our thinking. A friend of mine actually likened it to being in an abusive relationship. It's a pretty sad statement that we are actually begging to be laid off. And I'm not judging anyone here, because I feel the same way. However, I'm taking the reins and taking control of my own life and I am going to go out there and seek out other employment elsewhere. Please, no job is worth your physical or mental health. My physical and mental health has declined very sharply over the last year or two as a result of bny Mellon. I sincerely wish all of you the best of luck. I'm sending positive thoughts your way. We all need it!

I actually don't mind you reposting my responses at all. I can be quite verbose at times, so it really means a lot that my posts and thoughts are resonating with some of you. Really means a lot. Feel free to repost my thoughts at any time! :)

The guy who posted this thread here. Just to clarify, this is not my original post, but a repost of a reply to another thread. Hope that @XZSo7MD-1lez doesn’t mind me “borrowing” it.
