Ford Layoffs 2019: WHQ Layoffs Have Started Today (Tue 3/12) – LL4 And Up

Multiple reports on cuts starting today, as expected the media is silent. It looks like LL4 and up are being targeted. Some reports note that some LL5s were let go today. IT has been hit and folks from Accounting and HR are reporting cuts as well.

Not sure about Treasury, some rumors there but cannot vouch for that info.

Treat all info on this site as rumors, you never know who is posting and what’s true or not – this includes my post. If you are affected you will know – if you work at WHQ you know what I am talking about – it’s no secret on the ground.

Good luck to all of us - we'll need it and God bless.

These layoffs at Ford are going to be very sneaky

I want to know why Ford wouldn’t consider laying off based on attrition. There are enough salaried employees with over 30 years who might have been willing to walk away if it meant saving a person with less seniority.

Warn notice requirement depends on number of employees impacted at a given point in time. For origanization as big as Ford in Michigan if they are going to lay-off more than 500 they have to file for warn... probably they did not lay-off so many in bulk yet is just my guess...

employers may “pay in lieu” of providing WARN notice. Before “paying in lieu” of notice, employers should consider all of the necessary elements in valuing the requisite payments under WARN. Failure to properly compensate affected employees may result in litigation, attorneys' fees, and civil penalties
