Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Daylight stocking will just create a big mess

There is a reason why overnight stocking was implemented in the first place. It’s much harder to perform these activities while the clubs are packed with customers. I realise they are saving costs with this, but if there was no necessity for overnight stocking it wouldn’t have existed in the first place.

As crazy as it seems to bring overnight to days, well it does save the company money HOWEVER it will weed out the ones that don’t work. You can hate it all you want but as you can see they are saving money while making sure your a-- works. “Some” Long term associates have got comfortable, now they REALLy want you to earn that 2% raise or they will just replace you. Hate it or Love it. Hell look at the Sams Share quarterly based on “attendance”. Ahhh come to work everyday and WE might pay out something “if” your club is doing well. In the mean time don’t be call out of work or be late to often 5 points and you are out the door. WE NEED YOU! LOL. Gotta love this place(sarcastic tone)

Every single time this company has made a change, they have gone back on it. Green vest in electronics? Sorry, need you to run a register. COS to oversee self check out? Sorry, need you to help out at the membership desk. Audit team that accepted other positions? Other job isn't getting done because management still calls them away to help with audits. Claims person accepted another position that isn't getting done because new person still doesn't know claims well enough. Night shift on days? Guess we'll wait and see. And what happens to the backroom? Are the night unloaders going to stay in receiving or do they think it can still get done with 2 people? And Lord where is all that paper, soda, water, and distribution trucks going to fit? They can't even space it out now, since the company makes their own appointments. This should be interesting.

My club in Florida has been doing it almost a years at first it didn’t work at all...once you weed out the people that don’t do sh*t you will see. These long term associates that think they can move slow is a thing of the past. New guys/girls in here making stuff happen. I’m a long term associate myself but honestly we have lost more long term because of this than anything. We are also on block scheduling. The front end is currently suffering from that but the same needs to happen...make people step up or step out...it CAN be done

My market was a test market for the 4am opening for overnight crew.....several quit . We started in July last summer, ....blocking off aisles and still members "I only need mayonnaise" creeping underneath the blocking ribbon or trying to open the gate. Employees get upset, member gets mad when they are told "just please give us 10 minutes to drop this pallet". Someone is going to get hurt.

As somebody that used to work days. I’m currently a night stocker and I’m dreading the thought of going back on days. We already have at least 5 or 6 associates who will leave once the change is implemented. I’m sure we will have our meeting sometime during the week regarding the change. They already confirmed the Samshare changing to quarterly during the morning meeting today so it’s only a matter of time before the sh-- hits the fan officially.

Don't wait on the members. Do your work first. Maybe the members will go away.

I suppose they will be telling me tonight, how much longer it all will be before we go to days. As a lead for nights it is gonna be a pretty interesting thing how it will all work. Guess we will see here

Well now stop your complaining and get your a-- to aisle 7 and help load that merchandise. Members don’t shop overnight they need assistance in the day hours.

Then they will be pulled all over to help members and not be able to get their own work done. This will be a fiasco but HO will do nothing but let us all suffer. We need to synchronize a mass walk out. And I mean people quitting, not just walking out for a bit.

There are a few hours at the beginning of one shift and at the end of the other with no customers but yeah I don't see how it supposedly works.
