The only positive impacts of these changes will be visible short term, due to cost cutting produced by layoff. Trains are sitting as we speak, with less yard workers how can we expect the process no to be slower. The decline of business will be visible soon enough, it’s a shame that by then it will be too late for the folks that lost or are going to lose their jobs.

Keep in mind this is expected. Lose the less profitable business and keep the $$$ stuff. Sure it’s less income overall but don’t forget that the railroad’s biggest expense is labor. Slash that and now less customers works for them.
