Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Many of us will be losing points before we even hear what the "rules" are apparently

So, this new program rolls out Saturday and no one seems to know what the rules are. If I am asked to stay late one day and help, that means I leave early another day early so I don't go over on hours. Do I get docked for this? My team lead asks me to come in early to help out and I do. Since I come in early, then I leave early. Do I get docked for this? Many of us will be losing points before we even hear what the "rules" are apparently. I'm glad there is a bonus for attendance, but it seems to be luck of the draw. You can be a hard working associate at a club with a lousy bonus and not get much or you can be an air breather that just shows up at a club with a good SAMSHARE and you are rewarded. I don't know the rules at all, but it is a safe bet that it is structured in such a way that less will be paid out in bonuses this year than last.

Think that @Y21r1B7-1fgs is right

Sam's is a point system we were told today.

.5 if you click in more than 10 minutes early

.5 if clock out more than 10 minutes early

1 for calling off without ptto

3 no call no show

.5 late

1 if work less than half your shift

2 for special dates that will be announced and posted

It starts 3-16

Everyone's attendance wiped clean on Saturday

Has anyone had a manager tell you the points policy is for Sam’s Club? Reading it on the WIRE, it’s for Walmart. There is a separate Attendance/punctuality policy for Sam’s Club. It has February 2,2019 on it. No point system.

I think this new policy is also a way to make people use their protected PTO. If you get points for leaving more than 10 minutes early you'll have to use your PTO if you want to leave early. I can totally see the point of the point system for being late and call offs but not the rest. Ironic this system rolls out when no one has hardly any protected PTO accrued yet.

I have been f----ing showing up and do my job for years. I don't think it's unreasonable to try to figure out the point system since it relates to your bonus directly now. Most folks don't want to give up bonus money because they weren't informed of how the system works.

Just f---ing show up and do your job, no need to worry about the point system.

10 minutes clocking in early or 10 minutes clocking out early for the day are exceptions that are worth .5 points each. Staying and work late does not count. Calling in for 3 consecutive days used to only count as 1 absence it is now an exception for each day worth 1 point each day. Managers can still approve or unapprove absences.

Looks like people should start sticking to their schedules. Management won't be able to take advantage and keep us late so much anymore. That's probably partly another reason why this was rolled out. I'm kept late so many many times, then having to cut later in the week is causing the club to be shorthanded on days that we are scheduled.

But then again, maybe this is why leads could be put on salary..... I sure hope not.
