Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Lots of dead wood at Aetna

You might be surprised they will make cuts at Aetna, they have lots of dead wood, especially senior execs just sitting around doing nothing but pretend work, some don't even pretend. It is all known, but nobody hardly ever gets fired, so they'll welcome the opportunity to have some get the boot. The merger agreement says they have to keep a certain number of Aetna employees there (like 4500), but that isn't that much. Larry's eyes probably popped out of his head when he saw what they pay some of their execs salaries and bonuses.

"And IF Aetna’s ceo knew about this and still made a deal? "

Apparently you don't know much about corporate buy outs. Aetna is publicly traded company. Ceo can not stop an acquisition..only the shareholders could

Aetna is the only reason the CVS stock didn’t sink into the 40’s or lower. Without their strong 4th Quarter the bottom would have fallen out.

When Aetna realizes they got the wrong end of the deal the stuff is going to hit the fan! Aetna has close to 50,000 employees. IF cvs lays off a large majority of Aetna people this won’t end well. Think lawsuits... And IF Aetna’s ceo knew about this and still made a deal? Ooooh boy will this get juicy!
