Bring on the EISP please!!
My understanding is that they are going to keep all of us around for the 5G build once/if that gets going and are willing to live with very little work being done at this time. I wouldn't count on an EISP this year. I would predict we will see one before the expiration of the 2023 contract though.
Most all of our techs (cable maint, ppm, splicing) are doubled up in trucks. Linemen are driving vans. We have very little work. I can’t see this going on for years at a time....somethings gotta happen soon.
We have zero work on the copper side in New England.
How long will they pay us to do safety videos?
So the time frame on this latest rumor is off payroll at the end of the 2nd quarter?
@bbg: The special EISP that is in the contract calls for $50k lump sum and $2200 per year of service capped at 40 years.

The Squallow flies at midnight. EISP comes out in April. Off the books end of 2nd Qtr. Heard from very reliable source. Negotiations were held at the 5th level of company. Offer is being enhanced with 4 and 4. Secret Squirrel out !
A likely problem with any EISP coming from the company that has more than $2200 per year is that it will be capped at 20 years. They may give the employee ( current rumor is $8000 per year up to 20 years ) 'X' amount of dollars but it will probably be capped at 20 years.
If they really want the old timers gone and intend to offer more than $2200 per year to get those those age 60 and above then the company should go a full 30 years.
If the company were to simply go bat s--t crazy and offer $8000 per year up to 30 years I am sure they would loose 20,000 employees easily. :)
@mgf: A splicer told me the rumor at his garage is that the special EISP is soon. We had heard about offers coming in March, so I don’t really know how old the rumor he heard was.
Just heard an eisp coming out in May....off payroll in June. No other info as to titles or locations.
I'm hearing more and more about an added amount per year of service to entice associates who have 30 plus years and extending time in title plus age 6 an 6 3 and 3 etc. The talk now is new jobs for union. If so many go they want a certain number of newbies. And I'm sure Verizon wants less so we will see if it gets done by 2 qtr or summertime stay tuned....

What was the rumor you heard?
Actually I just heard a rumor today about EISP in Pa. so the rumors are still around. Whether there is any truth to the rumors is always the question. I think it's just speculation.

This WIRELESS employee got his VSP and is out the door next week. Best thing ever. New job with higher pay starts April 1st.
