I really don’t know what is in the heads of the management, thinking we can work in these conditions for a longer amount of time. After the layoffs all the work from the people that were let go in my team was simple transferred to us. At first I thought they were going to hire someone, but nothing is happening. We work to the border of human possibility, late hours, taking work home etc. If this state continues I don’t think I’ll be staying at UP for much longer.

Please tell us where you were a manager at Union Pacific and able to make your own decisions? What an id--t. You were a glorified limo driver writing people up for not signing their job briefing books.
I’m not a big fan of unions either but give me a break. Management at Union Pacific is a joke.
define extra. Last I remember is we work 8 hours a day maybe overtime would be considered “extra”. But what you do in 8 hours is YOUR JOB
Sounds like they laid the wrong person off.
If you get rid of the unions that restrict your work load or job duties then you'll be able to do a real days work like the managers. I was a union employee early in my career and I was tired of someone telling what to do and using my union dues for something I didn't agree with. As a managers I was able to make my own decisions which resulted in being more productive and happier with my job. Work smart not harder.
Quit doing extra work and start to engineer your lay-off. You don’t owe them anything extra.
Stop doing it everyone needs to only do what you are paid to do for 8 hours no more no less if management non agreement then only your 10-12 hr no more no less let them see the extra work quit doing it.
