I always wondered this, but never found an answer. Why was Elgin moved to a new building in Rolling Meadows? Wouldn’t it have been better for Verizon to just close Elgin?

As long as Irvine CA and Lincoln NE are still in business, we're all fine :)

The Chandler link is because the building is being sold. The tenants (VZW) still has a 5 year lease renewal available.

Fact: T-Mobile has 17 (and growing) American Based call centers.

Fact: T-Mobile opened their Charleston call center in an old K-Mart that just happened to be up the road from the now-closed Verizon Wireless call center.

Fact: T-Mobile has the highest NPS scores in the industry for their TEX model of hyper-localized Customer Care.

Yes T-Mo may have Philippines-Based centers too, but their growth remains with an American workforce.

3rup you're joking right, considering most of TMobile's customer service team is outsourced to the Philippines and India explain to me how TMO values American call centers?

Such stupidity from Verizon. Maybe T-Mobile can buy some of these sites and move in, like they did in Charleston and soon in Rochester.

T-Mobile values American Call Centers, while VZW just wants to erase them.

Closures / HBA of the remainder will happen gradually. Everyone who wants to bring HBA doing HBA things will have opportunity to continue.

Same thing here in the Murfreesboro Call Center. It's for sale and they are remodeling. New chairs, paint, breakroom remodeling, carpet etc...also lots of visitors from operations and IT.

Here is some factual information Chandler is currently being remodeled just like Rancho was when they closed it. The owners of the building want the repairs done hoping to get another tenant. See the website here for the lease info : http://www.cmnphx.com/MK-JB/Verizon_flyer.pdf

For anyone working in a call center not just Verizon your time is limited. Work from home is very cost effective and overall improves the experience for employees and the company. It’s a win win. Either get to go home or you will be laid off.

That’s great news! Maybe when they start working at McDonald’s, they will stop posting on the wireline site. Can’t wait until the day comes that all phones will be sold over the internet or at big box stores.

They've been doing this for years, so no big surprise.
