Back in your day things were different. Now we have 15 to 20 account and are lucky to be in each account once a week.
Mond sets us up for failure!

as a retired person from kraft nabisco the thing i noticed in the stores i shop at all over the usa is the lack of big displays for our impulse items . the other thing i notice is when i talk to someone who works in the store i ask them who the nabisco sales rep is . they have no idea. in my day everyone in that store knew who i was . spending time with managers or the people who run their own area to to talk about about anything except sales goes a long way when you need a big display and friends who you care about. so sad they want you to go fast as you can for gps.

SAP is a huge software co. that specializes in automation.
Nabisco is going to SAP on the 18th. Walmart uses SAP. Walmart is testing a grocery vending machine in Salem NH that can do 800 picks a minute and takes up 8k to 10k of space in the store, a small bite for Walmart standards. They plan on rolling this vending machine out nationwide this year, the store is in Salem NH. Perhaps dsd kind of ends one store at a time as automation takes over. More of a slow roar than a bang.

No deliveries for the whole USA on the 18th. That previous post could be true. Nabisco is too greedy to skip a whole day of deliveries! Guessing we'll hear something on Monday if this is true

This Tuesday the 18th the warehouse is closed and no trucks running for our region. Would be a good day for a conference as it will be a fast day in the field. I would imagine we would get a notification tomorrow if we have a call Tuesday. I’m sure this date like all the others will go by n nothing will happen.

February 18th is when it's happening. Very reliable sources have confirmed. Finally the truth will come out. Good luck everyone

There is no announcement on the 18th. Anyone of that type of knowledge would not be on here posting that anyways. Plus I highly doubt anything will change this year or next. I know its coming as well but its still a bit off.

Where are you getting these dates from? Obviously it's almost February 18th, so in a few days we'll all know if there's an announcement, or not. But then to spit out a second date of July 18th? Do you have any concrete proof of this, or you're just speculating, or what?

Doubt if it happens in 2020. We're still a few years away from a complete DSD exit. The company is happy with the returns from DSD. It's making tons of money!!

Mondelez has been quietly closing sites in its DSD delivery model for years. I worked at a high volume, very efficient nabisco branch outside of the biggest city in WI for years until they shut it down in 2017. We were not the first closure or the last either. We out performed the nearest branch annually. Its all about dollars & logistics in the end and they will say whatever it takes to keep you working there because they do need you to work until the end of the closure... then they dont. Meanwhile the upper echelon can keep collecting their bonuses paid for by the salaries of former employees.

I was told there are changes coming this year in way of a few new positions and promotions. Sounds like a new position on the sales team but was not given details on what they would be doing. I’m positive my self Kroger will go edi this year at some point and route changes will come and maybe a few less rep spots......time will tell soon. Most changes usually occur first of April with this company.

I would have to imagine once Kroger goes edi Why would they keep reps. We would not be writing orders at our 2 biggest accounts.

I hope the posts from the PR firm that we hired to clean up our image are right. Walmart does their own ordering and now Kroger will be doing the same. Everyone knows most sales are done at the corporate level. Last summer I joined a morning golf league. Now I'm thinking about signing up for a bowling league. I figured I might as well do something with all my free time since Mondelez isn't going to eliminate my position. Best job ever!!!!!!

I'm here because the people on here are spreading fake news!! We're committed to dsd. My DM told me that. They're giving Nabisco a bad name and scaring people with these rumors and conspiracy theories.

Who knows if we will eventually leave DSD or not? To the person going by the moniker "One Team," seriously? How dare you tell someone venting, voicing their concerns, and asking questions on a site specifically for just that, to get a new job if they aren't happy? Why don't YOU get off this site? Why are YOU even here?

I totally agree with you. We are not paying the slotting fees to go and are not exiting DSD anything soon. It’s just not happening especially this year. I was told there are a few big changes coming this year but they did not elaborate on them. Was told no one is losing their jobs though. Not sure what it could be. I think Kroger will go edi like Walmart n lock out our ordering.

Lol been hearing this for 3 years now and we're still here!!! We're staying in DSD!! This is the new way we are doing business. Nabisco told Retailers that we aren't paying slotting fees to warehouse our products. With all of our SKU's warehouses wouldn't be able to fit all of our products. Maybe you should find another job if you aren't happy.

I was told the same thing. We used to be have monthly meetings. Now we can’t afford a meeting once a year. If we are making so much money, how can we not afford 1 yearly meeting?

No rally meetings year we were told. Too expensive to get everyone together to set them up supposedly.

Here he here he i worked at Kellogg’s snacks we kept hearing rumors from retailers for 2 plus years and had the rally meeting and was fed the same B.S from the uppers our job was safe!!! Bahaha until we got back from our routes and had a meeting then was told you’ll get your severance if you stick it out till the end. They added so much product on to orders to empty the warehouse it was insane!!! I honestly see it coming soon. Too many signs!

Exactly! We have too many good things going on currently in DSD. No way this year will announce anything. I do think eventually it will happen but I would say more 5 to 10yrs from now.

Hello? DSD is still alive and it’s 2020. Time for people to call for its end in 2021. Some year you will be correct, but it’s not happening under Dirks watch.

They have just added a position at HQ for “DSD acquisition integration”. First item will be Tate’s cookies.

Tate’s cookies are coming DSD later this year. Test markets did very well in 2019, expanding nationwide soon.

The biggest reason we are "set up for failure" is people not taking responsibility and doing a half assed job.

Merchandisers and reps only doing part of their jobs. DM or CCM that never sees the field and RDR that isn't connected with the business.

The brands are there, the execution is lacking in places.

I find it amusing people saying DMs know something is coming and they are just lying to their reps. That's a bunch of bull. Is something coming? I don't know, don't think so but that's far outside of fieldsales pay grades.

Stop buying the conspiracy theories. If something is coming its a well hidden secret.

Nestle is one of the largest grocers in the world. If they are leaving DSD, so can we. The company called DPI is being outsourced to handle part of Nestle, and the store will handle the rest. The DPI gal just told me today. We are NOT TOO BIG!
