Look at you people tearing each other apart, like sharks. absolutely pathetic. Insulting your co-workers is not going to make your job more safe and secure. We're all in the same boat here. Can we please stop the childish insults and use this site for its actual purpose? Who gives a damn about Millennials? The problems at bny have nothing to do with Millennials. If you want to be angry and bitter towards someone, direct that towards Charles Scharf. Your anger and bitterness is misdirected. Come on people, get a grip. All of you who are older should know better than to insult people who are young enough to be your kids. Shame on you.

So, from a post above...

"Employees who lack Focus, & who have poor attention to detail make my job a lot more difficult then it needs to be."

Let's rewrite that as if we paid attention to detail:

"Employees who lack focus and have poor attention to detail make my job a lot more difficult than it needs to be."

There are competent and hardworking employees of all ages. The company wants to retain younger employees so they are the ones given opportunities to advance. Gray hair is not welcome.

Most of the managers are dead weight , some of them actually never did anything and were fired !

There are plenty of effective managers years now and I've seen talented people move ahead, while complacent people who barely do the minimum are left behind. Employees who lack Focus, & who have poor attention to detail make my job a lot more difficult then it needs to be. Obviously I'm going to look to move those individuals out of those positions, one way or another. This isn't like Elementary School, where everyone got a gold star for effort and for trying. This is the real world. The business World. The Working World. I'm really sorry if I'm sounding harsh, but I'm sure many people on here can agree with me that there is deadweight.

Look, big shot, let me guess ... you have no kids. We’ll see what your attitude is when you’re 50 and ave 2 kids, and need to achieve a certain work life balance

You know, you can't blame the Millennials for everything. I'm 32 years old and I was promoted to manager a few years ago. I was promoted because I proved myself to be competent, I worked hard and put in the hours and effort. All of the people in my group who have been with the company 10, 15 years, are just complacent and really incompetent. There are people in my group (direct reports) who are still in the same exact position they were hired into 15 years ago. There's a reason why they're still in those positions and have never moved up. I never asked for or pursued a promotion or asked for anything to be handed to me. There's a lot of dead weight at BNY...

I replaced two managers that were much younger than me, go figure. Old man doing the work of two youngsters. It’s not like I am cheap, either. But not favoritism: having a person do two jobs is not what you’d do to someone you liked.
