Severance pay varies by national location. Many countries have laws that stipulate severance payouts, which in some cases can be very generous. Some, like the USA, don't mandate severance pay. Corporate America tends to offer packages, while smaller employers often pay nothing.
Company is not doing well. If company was doing well then people would get salary increments. I did not get salary increment in last 4 years..despite having great performance ratings and good contributions.. I have given up hope and started looking out for better opportunity outside.

Reality is Oracle is a bloated company with a lot of degenerate fat.
I liken it to the culling of the heard. Nothing to see here.
