Some people see the furlough as the lesser of two evils, I saw it too at the time it happened. As time goes by I realise that it’s basically a layoff with a false sense of hope, which prevents one from actively searching for a new job. So basically we are caught in a limbo hoping to return and they are already not counting on us.

Yes...very much a feeling of Limbo. Not the best place to be. And then they've been known to call a guy back, work him like a dog for 8-16 weeks and then WhamO...back onto Furlough. Suks bad.
