Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Seasonal Hiring

At the all store meeting we were told that our store would be hiring 26 seasonal associates.

Three job fairs later and with two more planned we have hired eight seasonal associates.

Now we are being asked to pass out recruitment cards whenever we receive good customer service.

If they apply, and are hired, and stay the 100 days, we get $50.00. Were thinking that this is kind of like Lowes SSEI. I’m sure the other businesses appreciate Lowes poaching their best employees.

Never expect anything you are promised unless its on a signed piece of paper on Lowe's stationary (and even then expect them to weasel out of it). If you expect any different, you are either naive or about to learn a really harsh lesson in management-employee relations at Lowe's.

Make sure you are entering you time spent recruiting into Kronos. Wage and hourly laws deem this activity as working and you are entitled to pay.

sounds all well and good...but good luck getting the money. i did this once...repeatedly asked HR why i never saw the money even though the person was still there well past 100 days.....they just acted clueless...claimed theyd look into it..never did....no money received. wonder if they ever actually pay out for recruiting associates.....

At my previous employer, other stores tried to poach me a few times.

I went to management, and a few times, received a retention increase in my pay.

Marvin will fire them on day 99 so Lowe’s doesn’t have to pay.
