Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Why are folks making such a big deal out of block scheduling?

I get that people are unsatisfied, but when was Sam’s “shy” to implement changes that don't go to the benefit of the associates, to say the least. Keeping up with these changes and shifts is an integral part of working at this company, so I someone doesn’t have the nerves to be faced with that, working somewhere else is a far better option.

Because if I told them from my hire date that I'm only available from 9 to 6 that's not in my availability so that's why we are upset. Dumb question. We all have families or other responsibilities outside the club.

Block scheduling just gives FT a work-life balance. PT are just fill ins.

@icn Depends on your club's payroll budget and the number of cashier's they have. Due to a major staffing issue at my club all the PTs have been maxed out on the front end.

I'm part time. Been a cashier for 6 years. When I started I worked 36 or so hours a week, then it went down to 28 -30 hours a week, and now with the block scheduling, I'm down to 20 hours a week. That's why I hate it.
