yeah usually you outsource your weakness and not the area you have a competitive advantage in. so in UP's case, I'm assuming we're going to outsource our executive team because they are the weakest link. that will definitely save us some money and any kid with a toy train set can give us just as good advice.
Outsourcing also shifts a lot of liability to another company. I'm fixin to outsource my employer (UP) pretty soon. This can work both ways and I'm about to stick it right back in their face. Hope they enjoy the bitter taste of it!!
Totally agree,I will hire the $10 maid also, but,I think in this case the$10 maid works for a contractor who charges $50?(or whatever number you would like to insert here), just for the purpose of replacing us,not that I can blame them for that, just think it is a union busting tactic. If the unions were permanently disabled, then maybe you can really hire the $10 maid, just sayin.
Test= eliminating almost every craft,manipulating/controlling unions/reps,badges,finger scans, eliminate secretary, manager has no say/control,micro-manage,vacation/holidays/sick,don't care, show up,"forced overtime" ,maint. crew-eliminated,yard crew- eliminated,hostlers-eliminated, has not resembled a union job in years, coming to a shoo near you.Rant over.
If a maid works for $15/hr and maid service comes along and offers to do it for $10/hr, of course I'm going to go with the one who's willing to do it for $10/hr
North Little Rock,Houston= big....... Pick any of us that just got bypassed=small
What are you talking about? small location, big locations? "test" Share what you mean
When there are more contractors on property than employees, pretty good indication, small location has been under attack for years, big locations watch out,I think we have always been a "test" for things to come.
They already do in IT
