Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Lump sum payout from Xerox?

Did anyone just get this? A few of our admin managers did at our company (XBS Core) and I am wondering if anyone has information on what this means? Does this mean they are being laid off? Is this severance? How does this relate to the move to HCL? Any good information is greatly appreciated, since no one seems to know what is going on

I didn't get an lump sum memo and was told I'm not on the HCL list tomorrow. Guess I'm out after years of service. Horrible.

If you didn’t get the lump sum memo, it is a very very bad sign.

The bonus and HCL are totally separate. We had sales people get the bonus. Clearly they are not on the list for HCL.

There were people that received this message today that are definitely not underpaid. I believe these people are on a list of “keepers” and will not be laid off or rebadged.

Would it be a good sign or a bad sign to be reviewing one of these lump sums?

So Xerox is giving bonuses to people who they think weren't paid what they are worth...nice now I know where and why GIS had a pay freeze

You are paranoid. I’m in management and gave some of these out. It was very clear in documentation that it was a market adjustment. Obviously these people are underpaid and the market is great. They need to bribe some people to stay.

@Y8ooHmE-men That makes no sense. Either it is a story to cover their butts (the Presidents/HR/CFOs) are getting their marching orders right now, or there is more to it. Xerox would not just give employees money unless they had to.

We found out. We were told that the people who got this are getting a one time adjustment bonus.

They said that Xerox did a study and are making a one time salary adjustment.

So if you got this email it will be in your next paycheck.

I believe this has to do with whatever pension you have (in my case it was the TRA before they cut me after 44 years of service)

Lump sum payouts often refer to some combination of severance and defined benefit pension plans, i.e. RIGB. Icahn's team has been digging deep into RIGB to see how he can get rid of it, which his team has done with just about every otehr company that he has taken control of..

We have people who received this who were told by our president that they are safe. It seems to be a random mix. Many people received this.

It's so irresponsible for HR to distribute this the day before cuts are announced with no context of what it is.

Not everyone received the lump sum statement or the email.

My staff is reporting the same thing. I am trying to track down HR to figure it out.
