Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

FRA is MIA

Ive noticed lack of FRA presence if any at all since psr started its massive layoff launch. Is it that far out to think maybe there in bed with U.P and Blackrock?

Anyone else find this conspicuous? They say he who has the gold makes the rules and Blackrock has a ton of it. Ive also heard many stories of how management used to slip the FRA inspectors cash or take them lunch when they came for a visit and im sure this sort of bribery could happen on a much bigger scale.

Just a thought.

Please. Plenty of stuff has been and continues to be turned into the fra and they did nothing. By all means keep on reporting it but don’t act like they are just not informed.

You're all missing the point.... FRA isn't going to do more than the annual or semi annual drop bye if they don't need too. If you're worried about deferred tasks by management or found defects that are federal call and report it! It's been happening, probably the biggest reason UP is no longer going to provide advance notice of your layoff be cause too many guys were reporting issues to the FRA leading to their last day. All the fines and loss of power for trains and cars hurts despite their assload of cash. Just dont be a coward and scared to make an annonymous phonecall. FRA isnt going to do more than the annual periodic inspections unless theyre told more is going on. The guys have areas with multiple railroads to cover. And if a manager or director stops you for reporting other issues god damn it don't let them silence you. At that point it's on you and have no room to b--ch and moan.

FRA has always been a joke. They’ll give a little fine every now and then but they know which side of the bread gets buttered. Especially with the joint UP/FRA testing. One time a fra guy came up on our engine with a director and was asking us a question about a defect. I said we haven’t had a problem with that particular issue but we’ve had a problem with something else. The director put his hand up to stop me and said he didn’t ask you about all that. Lol ok never mind. In retrospect it is kind of funny because I was brand new, naive, and volunteering information, but it was an important lesson in reality.

UP breaks the law all the time. Why should FRA standards matter when other illegal business dealings are taking place nearly every single day. Lockem all up.

We have been seeing more of that. Sending leaders out with PTC cut out too. Wait until one crashes like that. A lot of maintenance is being ignored because we have 6 hours from inbound to release. Absolutely criminal.
