I use to be a wrench turner....then got smart and went to Transportation. Lol. Never hurts to experience/learn the duties of other departments. Gives you a much clearer picture of the operation in its entirety. Don't hesitate if you stumble across the opportunity or want to find the opportunity and go for it. Giving up seniority is not a good deal however..but if you ain't got nothing to lose, well maybe.
Hahaha wrench turners in transportation!? That's the most hilarious thing I've heard in all my years, you guys can't even use the wrench in the tool kits to change a hose without calling for a roadman! Let alone calls for much less.
This is stupid. Quit posting nonsense.
Csx still has mechanical departments ...and they are further along in the psr process.
Come on over MIC. We'll take wrench turners over here in Transportation side. Safer over here...more job security and get hands less dirty. Can grow the finger nails out and not have to worry about bustin them at work!!
Hah! Yeah that'll happen right after regional conductors at a desk monitoring crawlers pct controlled trains. Mechanical is at least skilled and transportation everyone knows earns way too much sitting on their asses pretending to work aor waiting for cabs.
