Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Can we expect any management restructure?

Of course I’m talking about lower and some middle tiers of management. I believe the big fish covered their asses already, so that question I won’t bother asking. In light of the Aetna merger becoming a reality we are aware that there will be some sort of restructure. Will that restructure be applied to lower and middle managers and what could the structure of those levels of management look like?

Hiring is hard, because NOBODY wants to put up with the c-ap at CVS. Most people quit once they get a taste of what's expected of them at cvs, during their initial training phase. People HATE the whole nights and weekends, and extended hours requirements, so the INFLEXIBILITY on the part of CVS is what's driving people away. Look at most application requirements... It's not flexible scheduling available, it's YOU MUST be flexible and be willing to work ANYTIME cvs needs you! That's what's killing hiring at cvs. CVS just wants people who have NO life and can work 24/7!

Try more like our store is ONLY allowed 5 managers for the entire store. This is per corporates numbers. So you get one manager on vacation, and another gets the flu in the same week and your screwed. We could use 8 managers in our store but Corporate won't allow us to hire any more than 5 managers and IF we do, our DL will just take them and put them in another store. Corporate is just lowballing the number on purpose to keep labor costs down.

If shifts are working a double it is because the manager hasn’t hired or puts up with call outs or is shady.

Managers, including shifts, willing to work doubles, is what made our last DM look great in corporate’s eyes! If more people refused to work a double CVS would be screwed! Working doubles is how cvs keeps all its stores staffed these days!

Technically the merger is still under court review. After the next court hearing on April 5th, we’ll probably know a little more about what’s to come. Either way the court hearing goes be prepared. If cvs wins expect more cuts as they integrate cvs & Aetna. And If cvs loses and the merger fails, then expect cuts to help right the ship, because if the merger fails the stock will sink like the titanic. As far as what previous poster said about how much more corporate can cut from stores... CVS will squeeze blood from a stone, trust me.

Can they pull anymore out of the stores??? At this point??you are screwed if you lose one or two employees...cant see how they could restructure anymore at store level...I just wonder what happens when store managers start refusing to work doubles
