Block Scheduling ( again)

Ok , I have seen on here we are supposedly going to get to choose which shift we work. I have heard that we would get two days together. I have heard there would be severances offered. We were told we would not get two days together nor would we get to choose our shift nor would there be severances offered. And we were told we might come in one day a 4 AM and 3 PM the next. How is this work life balance??? It is no different than it is now on days !! Not much different anyway. I would like to hear from someone in the know. WHAT EXACTLY ARE THE MANAGERS BEING TOLD TO DO ?? Clearly if home office intends the new schedule to be any "better" than the current schedule our managers are already trying to undermine it !! Shame on me for being surprised.

It is based off of Seniority. You work one shift, either mornings or evenings. It is company wide and every club has the same rules.

I could see the three consecutive opening then closing shifts, but Federal Labor Law mandates so many hours between the time you are scheduled to leave work and the time you are scheduled to arrive at work. So as far as closing at 11:30pm and opening at 4:00am the next day; this scenario will not happen. The company would open themselves up for liability in the event of accidents. Remember the Walmart truck driver that hit vehicle killing James McNair and injuring Tray Morgan? Truck driver had not slept in 28 hours.

So anyone on here that has has gone from the night shift to the new shift? If so were you offered a severance? I've heard different rumors. I work nights for a reason, like most do. it is eliminating our position so for them to say they kept the job is bs. The shift has moved which does not fall into my open availability. I've worked for the company for over 10 years this drawing out the news is nerve wracking. I would love to know my options do I need to start looking for a job or do I stick it out until I really have to. My head is spinning, which is my fault for believing in a company that clearly does not believe in their long term associates.

Our night manager said “I’m excited to annouce it WON’T be based off seniority” wow.. what a jerk thing to say for those of you who have dedicated several years of hard work within the company. “excited” .. where do they find these managers lol but he is probably incorrect, because I am hearing the exact opposite and seniority DOES come into play. Besides he’s pretty clueless when it comes down to a lot of things work related and it’s also pretty clear he’s the odd man out within the managers circle.

We were told everyone works both shifts. 3 weeks consecutive opening , then 3 weeks consecutive closing and so on. No severance offered because job wasn't eliminated. Shifts just changed. I guess this schedule is good for someone?? But not the ones having to work it.
