2nd round of forced offer letters in ISC

Original P193 post about ISC letters going out with the text '‘Failure to accept this position will be considered a voluntary termination’'. Just got a letter today, seems that the re-organization (i.e., 'Sourcing Transformation') is still being worked. Its not limited to P193 but a larger group in ISC.

Also, I see forced local relocations in some cases as well; example, from locations in Phoenix to other locations in Phoenix.

I'm curious if people think this will work for Honeywell in the long term or is just a short term win for HW. One thing to keep in mind is that people who get this letter and accept have to restart there 18 month window before they can apply again for another position.

I’d like to get an opinion, how could you do these forced letters (which is forcing people to take jobs they don’t want or resign) and still have Darius in the town hall say we’re going to start a program to have managers talk with their reports about career path.

The best thing you can do for yourself is start looking for another job. The only future at this company is a layoff.

The idea of these letters seems like something new, I wonder if in an effort to avoid costs of RIF like severance there is a thought that these letters could be used more effectively to get rid of people because they might leave voluntarily.

To answer someone’s question I’m not aware that a move package was included as part of these letters. I would be curious to see if anyone reading these posts could comment on that and also if any ‘executive’ level letters were also sent out. I only know the letters went up to a senior manager level.

The only ISC result is to sand bag an internal metric and slow pay suppliers. Suppliers offer better, lower cost to other customers to turn cash, not wait to get 3 times a year from HON. Now if you need labor: direct or indirect, ISC can look for naive workers in China, India, Mexico, and Romania. As to your question, take the job and get stranded in the next RIF in a place you never wanted to really go in the 1st place.

Is this the letter like Morris Plains people got where they got the enhanced moved package?

Enhanced meaning Executive Level move package as shown in HR Direct? They buy your house from you, pay all closing costs for your new home, help your spouse find a new job? And if you refuse that package they then consider it quitting so no severance. Which is what it says in the HR Direct severance policy. Search for SPD and you should be able find the severance details and the line that says basically if we are offering a paid move package and you decline we don't have pay severance. And distance to new site doesn't matter. E.g. Phoenix to Charolette
