Delivery Coordinator interview

I was among the LP staff that was laid off. Well I reapplied for a few other positions and never heard anything back. This week I was contacted and asked to interview for the Coordinator position in my old store. Is lowes delivery services on thier way out? I dont want to be in the same boat again with getting laid off.

Im a Delivery Coordinator. I hate having box trucks to deal with i would rather have a third party or have a central dispatch or central warehouse. It would at least stop overrides and over loading delivery

especially if no appliances were in the stores. Managers just give in everytime a customer isnt happy or doesnt get their way. Then say well i have to or they will call corporate....

It is probably the worst job in a company full of terrible job opportunities. Have at it if you are so inclined, but you have been warned.

I’m the back end manager at my store, I am over freight flow(no overnight crew), receiving, and delivery. I can tell you right now delivery coordinator is a nightmare job. I can’t get away from freight long enough to help my coordinator. The upper management looks at the coordinator as a delivery manager without the pay. You will get yelled at, cussed at, and overwhelmed with paper work. I for one would never step into that role.

I am currently a Delivery Coordinator and it’s a nightmare!!!!

If you are have 3rd party delivery,

You have ABSOLUTELY no control over deliveries. 3rd party dictates deliveries, not you. You can’t even guarantee customer timeframes that they request because 3pd runs the show. I wouldn’t recommend it unless your store still has in house deliveries, in which case you’re lucky. Good luck because you’re going to need it especially when management has no regard for you and consistently overrides delivery add ons without asking the coordinator.

There was talk about doing central warehouse delivery roughly a year ago in the NYC metro area that would eliminate most in store deliveries. As of right now, seems delivery coordinator isnt going away, but in a few years i would bet it does.
