Layoffs have completely destroyed this company in ways that I'm betting management didn't even foresee. Morale is so low nowadays, that even the top performers have stopped going above and beyond - they just go through the motions until it's time to go home.
This might turn out to be the straw that broke the camel's back...

Im going above and beyond because my managers tell me it will help my yard. Im gonna save the railroad. Buuuut then i read a very recent article, more hump yards will be getting shut down. So now im just gonna show up and do bare minimum cause its comin.

Even workers who are not close to getting laid off are quiting and finding other work. I’m getting laid off in 5 days asking with 8 others in my craft, and 12 more from another crafts. We have had 150 laid off since 11-30-18 and there is talk of more after this 18... all so the upper management can make profits selling their stock bonus shares.

How can a person even do the bare minimum when the power is either being ran around them or tasks deferred before they ever see the work order??
