Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Notify us of H1Bs

Whenever you see oracle bring on another H1B employee let us know here,’especially if you believe they replace a US citizen or permanent resident. Don’t use names but do use other relevant information. Two can play this game.

I don't think Oracle is a company that would hire h1bs to 'replace' native workers.. because if they want to save money, they can simply push the entire work to IDC/CDC.. as simple as that!

Let me preface by saying I have nothing against H1Bs, If they have special skills that are hard to find. Recently I was laid off, my whole team has number of H1Bs. I am an American citizen, yes I was doing same work as them but who knows what criteria for lay-off, I had good performance reviews. Now the others were all my friends so I am not going to fight, for them, it would mean leaving the country, but I do wish there would be some accountability to retain local workers instead of keeping H1Bs and spending $$$$ on their green card process.

Actually you cannot legally use H1B visas to replace US citizens/ permanent residents and doing so would be a federal crime because oracle would have committed fraud when applying for that visa on behalf of those foreign employees.

"Two can play this game."

What game are you playing? Or are you just playing with yourself (yes, pun intended)?

What would you be notifying anyone of? Oracle knows who they hire and from what country -what's your point?

Buddy,

You can get such info from hr team if you can reach them. Actually this is easy. For example, first get to know which team would have RIFs. Then check the employee name in that team and find the persons who may apply H1B visa. Then double check this guy from google or linkedin. Then you will get the answer. Not need to ask other guys to tell you. Just DIY.

To the person who started the thread, H1Bs are not your problem. If you think so, you are headed in a completely wrong direction

If the H1B's are here within legal requirements, then it's legal. May not be nice or fair but it's legal. There's no laws that force Oracle to hire US citizens
