Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

We are doing above and beyond to prove our location is needed.

Is it really going to help those who are left? Our pay vs. pay a contractor is what it comes down to.

They’ll be sure to include a Thank You post it note on top of your pink slip.

It doesn't matter how hard you work to the executive leadership. Going "above and beyond" will (at best) yield diminishing returns. It will also burn you out more quickly and for no good reason.

Do what is in your job description. You owe them nothing more than that. UP certainly isn't going to go "above and beyond" for you.

Manager's will lie to your face! Ask anyone in Roseville. Where's our grain train project? Going to Osawatamie according to the foremen.

Is your location busy? Are you meeting dwell goals? Have they added work? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out if you’re on the bubble.

Read your union agreement. UP cannot hire contract workers when they have men and women

out furloughed. Might want to find your local union rep. and have him do his job.
