Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Is there any attrition?

I know personally at least 10 people that left Oracle willingly in the last couple of months for jobs at other companies. Has that become a general trend these days? If it is, is the leadership aware of that, and better yet did they count on it? Is there noticeable attrition at other locations as well?

Even if they try to move out, no one will hire them, because anywhere they go, they'll have to describe their work at Oracle's stone age old products and their architecture, which will piss off most of the companies.. we are in a kind of bottomless pit..

I know someone who left a week before the OCI layoff in March... I think he's feeling a little sick as he could possibly have collected severance with his new job already lined up.

People have left. People are still leaving. I know a few short-timers who are on their way out. I know of whole groups (my own included) where people are leaving almost in droves.

Attrition? I left Oracle a few years ago, The game has changed...one can't expect to stay at one company for 10 or more years. Loyalty might sound good, but when it comes to a RIF, it doesn't really have much weight at all...

My experience wasn't bad at Oracle, since it was clear to me that it was an "at will" job...it could let you go, or you could let Oracle go...

I am 100% sure had I stayed longer, that I would be another number in these never ending RIF cycles...

So we can only do what we think is the best for our careers / family, and Oracle does what it believes it should do...either right or wrong, or surprising people, or making people anxious...and the anguish that spreads like wildfire...

Cheers!

This post would be laughable if it were not completely absurd.

Look, Oracle does not have an attrition problem. It has a degenerate inventory of workers who keep seats warm for 10+ years.

Yes people have left. In a normal company, the management would be concerned about the best people leaving, but at Oracle, the management does not see any value in its employees. The management loves people to leave. They don't see the quality and competence leaving, they just see the short term more expensive employees leaving and they are thrilled.

The management is made up of total id--ts with brains that never developed beyond junior high.

They think they will hire cheap replacements in India with no experience and somehow they will magically do all the work for the lying, cheating management in the US.

No but they did hire a bunch of id--ts to spout garbage on thelayoff.com - see they are paying attention and trying to distort and distract with fake news

Not that SC or the turd told me personally, but they have to love it when you leave and they don't pay you any severance. What's not to like?
