Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How is the job market in retail looking these days?

To be honest im fed up working at Sam’s. Want to move on to another company, but to tell you the truth I can't seem to find a job that looks even a little better than the one I have at Sam’s. Not even a lot of job posting for full time positions, just a whole lot of companies looking for part timers, younger folks etc. Is the job market for full time retail workers really that down?

Retail is a dead end job now. Look elsewhere. People don't understand that they NEED to learn skills in other professions now. If you don't you will be sorry. Not sure why anyone would get out of Sam's and look into something at another retail company. id--tic

I personally think a lot of retailers would prefer part time...less for them to spend on employees and benefits. And, since retail is changing so fast it's in their interest to spend that saved money on technology "adventures".

Not saying it's right, just maybe a why.

Good luck in your new job search.
