There have been layoff and sideways transfers from the beginning of the year. It has been a few people at a time, usually in the middle management to VP levels. Today, 4/23/19, there was another round, this time in India as well; this round included entry-level managers and non-managers as well.
In most cases, people were given several weeks time to stay with the company in their current positions and continued to get paid; the company made some effort to fill open positions with the laid off people.
