Check with your state law. In Nevada and our club, we can change a schedule for associates on a Friday night for the start of the next work week...aka, the next day, Saturday. If you are already in the middle of a new work week, they by law can't change your schedule without telling you, and having you sign the paperwork. I've done this myself several times. An associate is not forced to say yes or agree, but you are expected to. I am a TL, and this is our policy, in accordance to state law.

I tell my associates to print out or take a photo of their schedule each week. Although schedules are done three weeks in advance, I change them 2 weeks out, but I let my associates know.

and yet another topic not related to lay-offs

It’s a lay off site not a my schedule was changed site. 90% of the stuff posted on here are not related to layoffs and what is rumors and made up c-ap. And anybody who down votes me are the ones posting stuff that isn’t related to layoffs. So with that said let the down votes begin!

I print out my schedule and follow it. If it gets changed ,I decide which schedule I want to work. If the new one is better I work it. If I don’t show up for a changed schedule...I show my printout. No points..or trouble . Especially if they don’t tell me.

Policy is 3 weeks in advance.. while he CAN change it at the last minute he's going to have a hard time holding you accountable if you don't/can't make it. Open door it if necessary.

Google "at will employer"

Legally they can change it.

Do you really think HO is going to tell you the truth, they are telling you what they have been told to tell you. Look at what is written on the Wire and print it. If it says they have to redline your schedule then that is the law. Now, they, HO, can change the policy at any time by giving all associates thirty (30) days notice, so they would probably rewrite the policy on the Wire which would constitute notice.

They are crossing into a gray area, if that leads to termination, State Unemployment will want to see the printed schedules, if you have yours, then Sam's Club produces one that's been changed without your signature, then you just opened up a legal precedence that goes against SOP which will cause Sam's to loose then every denied unemployment case will be called into question as a potential wrongful termination. When you call a manager out on schedule change the CM or Regional HR will overturn any disciplinary action. Hence, everyone print and save your schedules.

Sam’s Club does not hAng schedules anymore . Believe me they can change your schedule daily . I I print my schedule out and if what they change it to works for me than I will work it . If not I tell them I am going by my printed out schedule. It is crazy that they can get away with this .

Call Home Office they will also tell you that the schedule can change daily if that is what the club needs .

Another reason Sam’s Club is not a good place to work .

We have to give them 3 weeks notice if we want a day off but they can change our schedules daily . Something is wrong with this company.

Policy states you must be given at least 24 hours notice of a schedule change. But they can change it for whatever reason as long as it falls within your availability.

O, yes, they can change your schedule up to twenty four hours before your shift. Use to be once the schedule was up, that was it. In order to change it at our club, you agreed, it was red lined, and you initial, but they haven't printed or hung paper schedules where I work in a couple years. A notice is hung by the time clock notifying you to check the schedule daily. Some never see that paper, because they use the computer downstairs to clock in. Little things, like this, is infuriating, because you can't plan anything with your family.

Technically they can’t once posted. They have to consult with you

Happens all the time. "Well I was going to ask you, but hadn't seen you yet". I don't know if its policy, but certainly is called courtesy. And our club always used the check your schedules daily excuse or just hangs a sign by timeclock. And half don't go to time clock, they just punch in on computer downstairs.

Print your schedule on Saturday morning. If they change it after that you have documentation to fight any point deductions or reprimands.

They can change your schedule to whatever the club needs are . Call home office yourself and let them tell you . I called because they were ( and still do ) changing our schedules every week .

Home Office response was just that . And yes they are suppose to tell you but that can be by them actually telling you are posting by the time clock the schedules have changed Or on Walmart one / wire

Our management in our club tells you you need to check your schedule daily 🤦‍♀️

No they can't. It still is supposed to be red lined, however if your Club does not have printed schedules, which is still against SOP, a manager can go into JDA, pull the date in question, hit audit and it will tell who changed the schedule on what day and time changed. Hopefully you have a screen shot of your schedule before the change.

They aren’t supposed to. Especially with this new points system. But they do anyway. If you have proof of what your schedule was you may be able to fight it.
