Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Dear Mr. Ceo

ST, I came upon this site as I am concerned for the health of a company I have put many years working for. I understand the stress you must be dealing with but I have ideas which you may be interested in.

  1. The return policy has been implemented way to quickly and changed to often, which creates confusion for the customer. In addition, when did we follow what the competitors are doing?

  2. In this retail environment we MUST adapt and change or we die. The best way to destroy a country is to raise taxes on its citizens. Basically austerity! Look to greece as an example. The only way to thrive is to be better then the competition or offer something they dont. IE when everyone else is changing their policies to be less consumer friendly we should be more consumer friendly. Thus my point! The old return policy brought in more consumers which took more risk out of purchases. We must work harder with our vendors or we all go out of business.

  3. Coupons!! This drives the bbby business. Why reinvent the wheel?

  4. Marketing: Is anyone working in this department? What have we done recently to drive the business? I will give you a few ideas from an uneducated retail manager. How about creating our own day? The Beyond Day!! Everyone gets 20% the entire day as a customer appreciation day every year. Hopefully this will get some wheels turning.

  5. Buyers: We really need our buyers to buy merchandise that is current. Also why does every store basically get the same stuff? I understand buying power, but if I live in the east coast, why would I want the same stuff from the midwest. By for your market!
