Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Be Aware!!

Be cautious that even using PPTO you will be given points, most cases days later!! The system approves the PPTO automatically, however points are still issued and you have to hassle with mgmt for removal!

At our they put 1 manager in charge of over seeing the attendance. Our managers seem to be doing a good job at this. I have seen a lot of d---beats that should've been gone a long time ago gone now because of the point system. So I would think the managers would make sure people don't get undeserved points seeing it is hard to replace workers.

It was never explained to everyone i our club how the new attendance policy works. It was never told to the few associates that attended a morning meeting that a manager had to approve your tardy, early out or call outs. What was said is, if you use your protected PTO, then your time was approved. And to the person who made the remark "not our job to hold your hand", clearly you are management. Instead of being so mean, why don't you try to be part of the solution. This company is a going down hill fast. What was said about chasing down your manager to approve your time is true in our club. This is not right. It has happened to many people in our club. People who have been approved to leave an hour early or so and then they get a 1/2 point. I have been told by our prior PTC that we should ask for the management to approve a payroll cut. But sadly they refuse to do so. We only have one manager that seems to care about the assoicates.

it IS the managements JOB to pay attention to point accumulations and to make sure associates are informed . There is a posting on the wire titled " Attendance Reinvented " In that document it clearly states managers are to monitor attendance and to inform associates if they are getting close to pointing out. So it only follows that ANY managers seeing that someone has entered PPTO into the system is EXPECTED to honor that request. NO associate should have to chase down and wrestle with a manager to use their PPTO. If associates' PPTO is being rejected the managers in that / those clubs are acting in direct opposition to company directions. Each time an associate has their PPTO denied they need to contact ethics right away and do not put themselves through the torture of crawling on their knees to beg for their benefits.

@act but it is your job to manage, or is that too complicated for you with your high school education?

@act Of course, that's a simple solution to not having to worry about points.

It must be great to be you. Never have to worry about your kid getting sick or their school closing and you can't find a babysitter.

I bet you never get sick either! And if you do, but still come to work, I mean good on ya! I'm sure the Fresh depts don't mind.

Car never breaks down, and even if it did you must have a wonderful network of friends to help you get to and from, a fantastic mass transit system in your area or the extra cash to cover a Uber.

Your life must be amazing!
